Maureen Danson
I am originally from New - Galloway in the south west of Scotland and trained as a Nursery Nurse.
After having various jobs looking after children in London and on cruise liners I married and settled in Sheffield.
Painting came to me near the end of my working life. After watching some classes on TV, I decided to have a go and joined a local WEA class, never having painted before I found it all very stressful at first but I persevered and soon started to get the hang of it.
In the years since then I have sold several paintings and donated one to The Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice.
My aim in life is to continue to develop and improve my painting skills for as long as possible.
Each and every blank canvas poses a new challenge.
